Entering the school – 5th February 2024

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Starting from next Monday, 5th February, teachers will be waiting in the school hall for the children at 8:30am. The entrance for the children will not be staggered. Therefore, as soon as the bell rings at 8:30am, children from Yr 1 to Yr 6 are expected to enter the school.

Kindergarten teachers will continue their usual practice of gathering their children near the school doors.

Carnival – 9/2/24

 

 

 

 

Dear parents/guardians,

on the 9th we are going to celebrate Carnival at school. Children can come wearing carnival costumes or casual clothes. On the day, school is till noon for children, since the teachers have training.

Kindly note that Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (12th – 14th Feb) are carnival holidays, so children do not have school. School resumes on Thursday 15th February 2024.

Digital Art competition

 

RULES AND CONDITIONS

By entering the Digital Art Competition, you are hereby accepting the following competition rules and conditions.

  1. Eligible Participants

This competition is open to ALL primary, middle and secondary students attending state and non-state schools including LearningCentres and Education Resource Centres.

A student may submit only ONE artwork.

Only individual submissions are allowed.

Forms of Digital Art may include: Computer Graphics, Pixel Art,Digital Photography, Digital Collage, Digital Painting.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

Digital Art Competition

  1. Digital Art Works

The work submitted for the competition should be based on one of the following themes: Lines

Still Life

Life at school

Entries must be original work and must not have been previously published or entered in other competitions.

Artworks featuring known persons, organisations or brand names will not be accepted.

Digital Art must be submitted with no watermarks.

Participants retain the copyright to the artworks submitted.

Participants should confirm that each person illustrated in the submitted work has granted permission to be portrayed as shown.

  1. Submission

All entries must be submitted to the email addresses as per below: Year 1 to Year 6: daniela.zerafa@ilearn.edu.mt

Year 7 to Year 11: clint.gerald.attard@ilearn.edu.mt

Entries should be submitted by not later than Friday 22nd March 2024, till 16:00.

The file name containing the Digital Art submission must include the student’s Name and Surname, Class, College/School and chosen Theme. Example: Mark BorgYr2_1Zabbar PrimaryLines or

MariaZarbYr7_5StMargaretCollegeMSStillLife or

AlanGattYr10_3StGorgPrecaCollegeSSLifeAtSchool.

The applicant is giving permission that his/her name, and photos of him/her and of the Digital Art, may be published on the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation website and social media, and other media.

  1. Selection Process

Participating artworks will be divided into FOUR categories according to the age of the student: Group A: Year 1 to Year 3

Group B: Year 4 to Year 6

Group C: Year 7 to Year 8

Group D: Year 9 to Year 11

A panel of experts in the field of digital art will judge the presented work.

The entries will be judged according to the following criteria: overall impact

relevancy to the category topic

composition and arrangement

technical ability

originality

The winner of each section will be selected through a fair and impartial process by a panel of judges appointed by the organisers. All decisions by the judging panel are final.

  1. Announcement of Prize-Winners

Winners will be announced through a circular mentioning names of winners, class and respective schools/colleges, on the week starting 27th May 2024.

Prizes will be given to those who place first, second, and third in each category.

All participants will be presented with a Certificate of Participation from the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation.

The winning works, as well as a selection of other entries, will be exhibited on the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation media platforms and others.

Christmas photos

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

Kindly note that as from next Monday the 15th of January 2024, you can view and order the Christmas Concert photos. These will be projected in the Hall as follows:

Kinder: 9:45am -10:00am

Years 1-3: 11:00am -11:15am

Years 4-6: 12:00pm – 12:15pm

Those who want to order will be give a form to fill in. Carmen, the receptionist, will take both orders and payment.

Photos can also be ordered from Tuesday till Friday from:

8:45am – 9.30am

2:00pm – 2:30pm
