Official Headlice Guidelines – the Director NSSS

 

During this scholastic year, Scalp Scanning Service shall be conducted by Contractor Yama Yami Ltd…. For both Yearly Routine Scalp Scanning and Urgent Scalp Scanning the following applies:

  • If it is confirmed that the student has headlice, Contractor Yama Yami Ltd shall immediately inform the Head of School / Deputy Head in charge; by providing a Student report for each student & an Overall Report after each visit.
  • Parent/guardian of student with headlice shall be informed for appropriate treatment and subsequent follow-ups can be initiated.  The Student Report for each student has to be presented to the clinic on the day of their appointment.
  • Clinics Addresses – Scalp Scanning (1)

 

  • Student/s shall only be re-admitted to school upon presentation of the certificate issued by Contractor Yama Yami Ltd. No other certificate shall be accepted by the school.

 

Urgent Cases for Scalp Scanning:

The following procedure is to be strictly adhered to when student/s in a class is/are identified for hair screening due to suspected headlice:

1.Suspicion shall be referred by teacher/parent/guardian who shall advice the Head of School / Deputy Head in charge.

2. Head of School / Deputy Head in charge shall send the request, providing all the necessary details required for screening the entire class of that particular student.

  • 3. Contractor Yama Yami Ltd is obliged to conduct such urgent visits within forty-eight (48) hours or the next school day in the case of the weekends, of receiving the request.
  • 4. If it is confirmed that the suspected student has headlice and his/her sibling/s are at school, they shall also be screened as part of the process (not the entire class).
