{"id":2028,"date":"2024-11-14T17:14:07","date_gmt":"2024-11-14T17:14:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scc.stjulians.skola.edu.mt\/?page_id=2028"},"modified":"2026-05-23T14:55:33","modified_gmt":"2026-05-23T14:55:33","slug":"official-headlice-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/scc.stjulians.skola.edu.mt\/?page_id=2028","title":{"rendered":"Headlice"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Official Headlice Guidelines &#8211; the Director NSSS<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">May 2026<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the rest of this scholastic year, Scalp Scanning Service shall be conducted by Uniplural Group.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For Urgent<u> Scalp Scanning<\/u>\u00a0the following applies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1. The <strong>Visit Form Report\u00a0<\/strong>is to be filled, signed, and stamped after each visit by Uniplural, and a copy shall be given to the Head of School \/ Deputy Head in charge<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>2. If it is confirmed that the student has headlice, Uniplural shall immediately inform the Head of School \/ Deputy Head in charge, by providing a <strong>Student Report<\/strong> for each student&amp; an\u00a0<strong>Overall Report <\/strong>after each visit.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>3. The parent \/ guardian of the student with headlice shall be informed for appropriate treatment and subsequent follow-ups can be initiated.\u00a0 <u>Kindly inform parent\/ guardian that the\u00a0<strong>Student Report for each student <\/strong>has to be presented to the clinic on the day of their appointment.<\/u><\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>4. Student\/s shall only be re-admitted to school upon presentation of the certificate issued by Uniplural.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>5. <strong>No other certificate shall be accepted by the school.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Urgent Cases for Scalp Scanning:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The following procedure is to be strictly adhered to when student\/s in a class is \/ are identified for hair screening due to suspected headlice:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>&#8211; Suspicion shall be referred by teacher \/ parent \/ guardian who shall notify the Head of School \/ Deputy Head in charge.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>&#8211; Head of School \/ Deputy Head in charge shall send the request through the link <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=O3ivQUNSKEy3pGcsC57e0jVvlqE2D-1Ls67R3K4MSfdUMkxQQjVJR0lQVVBUTkZZUDhTOTBWQzJDTC4u\">https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=O3ivQUNSKEy3pGcsC57e0jVvlqE2D-1Ls67R3K4MSfdUMkxQQjVJR0lQVVBUTkZZUDhTOTBWQzJDTC4u<\/a>, providing all the necessary details required for screening the entire class of that particular student.<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>&#8211; Uniplural is obliged to conduct such urgent visits within twenty-four (24) hours or the next school day in the case of the weekends, of receiving the request. Uniplural is to call school prior to the scheduled visit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>&#8211; If it is confirmed that the suspected student has headlice and his \/ her sibling \/ s are at school, they shall also be screened as part of the process (not the entire class). Wellbeing Services are to be informed with regards to sibling\u2019s name on <a href=\"mailto:nsss.hairscreening@ilearn.edu.mt\">hairscreening@ilearn.edu.mt<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>&#8211; If it is suspected that other classes also need to be screened, Step 2 is to be followed again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Official Headlice Guidelines &#8211; the Director NSSS May 2026 For the rest of this scholastic year, Scalp Scanning Service shall be conducted by Uniplural Group.
